Our Exclusive Snorkel Cruises, or Combo Charters are Proven Family Favorites

Kealakekua Bay and  Captain Cook's Monument                                 Makalawena

Bring the family. . .  Enjoy an exclusive snorkel cruise along Kona's spectacular coastline.  We can just cruise, enjoy the ride and scenery, look for a pod of Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, or we can put out some lines and fish along the way.  Kona Sea Sports provides a personal charter for you, your family or friends, unlike most other snorkel charters where boat is shared by 12 to 90 other passengers.  Our 5-6 hour Snorkel Cruise is $660 plus tax,  includes up to 6 passengers, morning fruit and pastry, beverages, and a deli-licious lunch.

Our favorite destination is the marine sanctuary at Kealakekua Bay.  Historically, the Bay is a sacred place to the native Hawaiian People.  It is also the location of the Captain Cook Monument, marking the spot where a misunderstanding  with the local people led to his untimely death.

Kealakekua Bay is usually warm, calm and protected with good underwater visibility.  It is home to a variety of colorful fish and corals and often a resting place and playground to a pod of spinner dolphins.  Below are some samples of what you might see on your snorkel adventure.

While Kealakekua is the undisputed Gem for a snorkel or dive adventure, there are other locations that offer excellent snorkeling.  We enjoy our trips to Garden Eel Cove, Koloko and Pawai Bay.  Venturing farther north along the Kona Coastline, we can snorkel along the way to an anchorage at Makalawena.  The turquoise waters, pristine white sand beach and dunes provide a backdrop for one of the Big Island's "most beautiful" beaches. Explore the beach and the Opae'ula Pond, one of the Big Islands most important refuges for shoreline birds.  As with all locations, weather and surf conditions dictate where we may safely go.
